1. Online temperature monitoring system for high-voltage switchgear. During long-term operation, due to various objective reasons, high-voltage switchgear may show cable lap joint defects, busbar defects, contact defects, operating mechanism defects, arrester defects and other problems after installation and commissioning. Fiber Bragg grating temperature sensors thereby address hidden dangers to the reliable operation of electric power, directly affecting the safe and stable operation of equipment. With the increase of unattended substations and the development of large-scale and intelligent management capabilities, it is required to perform real-time online temperature monitoring of high-voltage cabinets and other high-voltage equipment and upload the data remotely, so that hidden dangers can be discovered and handled as early as possible, ensuring the safe operation of high-voltage equipment. This system consists of three parts: fiber Bragg grating temperature sensors, transmission optical cable and an intelligent FBG demodulation unit. The FBG temperature sensors are installed on the surface of the measured points to collect signals; the signals are transmitted to the FBG demodulation unit through the optical cable; the demodulation unit processes the data in real time for fault diagnosis, alarm and control.
2. Continuous high-temperature fire detection for gas tank areas. With the development of China's petrochemical industry and the increase of crude oil and waste oil reserves, more and more large oil depots and tank farms have been built in China. Due to the increase in the number of oil tanks, the many devices and valves to be controlled, and the long operation time, operational errors are likely to occur and the safety of the tank farm is hard to guarantee. Because crude oil and natural gas are flammable and explosive dangerous goods, and light oil storage is volatile, ordinary electronic equipment cannot be used for temperature detection and fire detection alarm of storage tanks. With the fiber optic temperature measurement system, temperature detection can be performed. FBG temperature detectors on oil tanks can be arranged at intervals of 3-6 meters, or in a double-hole arrangement. Special fixtures are used to arrange the detectors near the sealing ring of the floating deck/floating ship oil baffle, then the detectors are connected in series through metal/optical cables to the signal processor in the main control room. The signal processor demodulates the collected signals, measures the theoretical condition of the on-site temperature, and transmits the corresponding data to the central control room.
